Grand Soleil 39, we explain why it’s a superboat (and where to find it used)

gs-39
The Grand Soleil 39 is a very successful boat.
Produced from 1983 to 1990 in more than 200 examples, it is the result of the collaboration (already proven with the 35-footer, and which will continue with the 34.3) between Cantiere del Pardo with the great designer Alain Jezequel, and was designed for those who really love to sail.

grand-soleil-39A GREAT CLASSIC THAT ALWAYS ATTRACTS
This classically shaped twelve-and-a-half-footer (notable is the positive momentum of the bow while less pronounced is that of the inverted and narrowed transom, while the maximum beam of 3.76 m is concentrated toward the center of the boat, to take full advantage of the IOR regulations of the time) even when the boat is loaded maintains excellent balance. If these are the “under sail” features, the line of the boat is no less than streamlined and clean, so much so that it has become a timeless classic. To add to the praise: the fiberglass construction is solid, with no technological frills, and the quality of joinery is high. Of particular note is the interior layout, with the master cabin aft flanked by a second cabin with overlapping bunks. Undisputed queen boat of used boats, still a great success among enthusiasts. This is evidenced by the fact that those who have it hold on to it tightly. Fortunately, there are exceptions, as in the case of these two beautiful models that are for sale on Top Boat Market.

Other figures include those for the draft (1.90 m), fuel tank capacity (200 l) and fresh water (440 l), as well as the 84.4 sq. m. sail area and displacement (8.3 t).
