The secrets of Ewol propellers
A story that began 23 years ago, as Ewol CEO Sergio Moroni tells in the welcome interview in the booth, “We decided early on to launch on hi-tech products and materials, using Superduplex stainless steel and titanium when, back then, propellers were only made of bronze.”
But why steel and titanium? It’s quickly said: these are materials that are unmatched when it comes to corrosion resistance and mechanical properties.
Ewol manufactures three- and four-blade propellers, for sailboats 6 meters and up. At the booth discover the whole range and its secrets (such as the new shovels “Sword“, which are shaped like a scimitar and have a curved leading edge to increase efficiency and a trailing edge that is also curved “unloaded” to reduce rotational noise and increase efficiency in propulsion).
The right propeller for a 35- to 55-foot boat
For medium to large boats, 35 to 55 feet, the right model, for example, is Orion.
At its heart are gears that enable the blades to orient themselves according to the fluid threads of the water when sailing and arrange themselves at the correct angle of incidence when motoring, thus improving the performance of the boat under both sail and motor.
Orion brilliantly solves the problem of low maneuverability of boats in reverse, especially in difficult environmental conditions such as high wind, limited space, rough sea, etc.
