Yamaha’s range of electric motors has been enriched with a new model: the MS20 Saltwater, designed for use in saltwater.

Characterized by a specially designed to combat seawater corrosion even before it starts to act, weighs 20.4 kg and preserves the maneuverability characteristics typical of its freshwater siblings (M12, M18, M20, M26, M32, MX18), has an anti-algae propeller and is powered by a single 12 V battery. It also features:

  • Battery status indicator button.
  • Locking bracket
  • Digital Maxmizer
  • Fully encapsulated electronics
  • Coated lower units

We had Yamaha’s Ferdinando Piccolo tell us about it at the Genoa Boat Show. For the Japanese, too, the future is electric: it appears that the company is moving toward an outboard model with an integrated battery and is working closely with companies specializing in hybrid propulsion… www.yamaha-motor.eu
