In view of the challenging weather conditions, the fleet had already been divided into two groups, so at the time of the incident there were only six boats racing, all with one hand of reefing on the mainsail. The Italian team, assisted by the organization’s safety team, showed great seamanship and after righting the boat in just 30 minutes took part in the next race, thus meeting the day’s competitive schedule.
