It was Frenchman Jean-Marie Liot’s stunning shot (depicting Morgan Lagravière’s IMOCA 60 Safran entirely submerged in water while underway) that won the Mirabaud Yacht Racing Image of the Year award (149 professional marine photographers competing from 25 nations).
