Day 6 of the 49er Europeans Porto 2015
The Rio Olympics are just around the corner (sailing is on the calendar from August 5), and never before has expectation been as high as in this edition of the Games.

EYES ON NACRA 49ER FX
In fact, all of the Italian athletes who have already punched their Olympic ticket are potentially in the running for a medal. Vittorio Bissaro and Silvia Sicouri, in the Nacra 17 mixed catamaran, have been at the top of the world for more than two years, and they are certainly not going to Brazil to make up the numbers. Giulia Conti and Francesca Clapcich (49er FX) are veterans of a historic triplete: rainbow, European and Italian titles. The two girls have all the credentials to make us dream.

Francesco Marrai (Laser Standard)

HOPES ALSO FOR LASER AND RS:X
Francesco Marrai, among the Laser Standard, has also shown that he is at home in the waters of Rio, winning a pre-Olympics: and Flavia Tartaglini, currently ranked sixth in the ISAF RS:X women’s rankings, will also have a chance to free herself from the yoke of Alessandra Sensini’s “eternal heir.” The next name to be made official should be (the conditional is a must) Mattia Camboni in the men’s board, while in the other classes the situation appears less clear.

THE “BIG BOHS”
In the Finn, the Michele Paoletti-Giorgio Poggi duopoly would seem to be resolved in favor of the former, but the last word is not said, with the Gaeta World Cup in the middle (could Filippo Baldassari also fit in?). As for the 470, there is still the nation to qualify with Gabrio Zandonà and Andrea Trani favored among the men, while among the women the situation remains uncertain (Berta-Komatar? Caputo-Sinno? Di Salle-Dubbini?). Italy has already qualified instead in the Radial and men’s 49er. But predictions about who will go (if they go) to Brazil are impossible for now(Cherin-Tesei, Tita-Zucchetti or Dubbini-Dubbini among the 49er? Martha Faraguna or Joyce Floridia among the Radials?)
