Giancarlo Pedote made Vendée Globe and Italian sailing history with an eighth place finish, not even 24 hours after the winner, that has the flavor of a feat. His round-the-world voyage is something that the skipper still finds almost hard to recount, so enormous is the wealth of emotion and experience gained in these 80 days at sea.
