We have come into possession of the first photos of the new Grand Soleil 58 Performance just launched in Fano: very elegant lines and a stern that is clean and truly meticulous in detail for the boat that bears the signature of Umberto Felci and Studio Nauta, and is the first to hit the water of a series of six boats already ordered from Cantiere del Pardo. The first contact with the public will take place in September at the Cannes Motor Show. In the meantime, we ask you what you think….
EXTERIOR
The deck provides a variety of solutions to meet a wide range of needs. There is a choice of a self-tacking jib or classic genoa rails, mainsail sheet with fixed point or electric recess rail, oversized winches, optional carbon bowsprit, full deck equipment for fast cruising or racing, 2 different cockpit tables, retractable sprayhood when not in use, hydraulic or carbon gangway, garage tender, and much more. Proper weight is ensured by the use of lightened materials in both furnishings and cauldrons and the use of composite bulkheads laminated directly to the hull. In this way each owner can decide what best meets his or her needs.
INTERIOR
The large aft area is suitable for a tender garage and ample storage areas. Both aft cabins provide 2 twin beds or a double bed. Each of these cabins has its own private bathroom. The VIP bathroom can also be used as a daily toilet and can also be converted into a fourth cabin upon request. The huge dinette has 2 different layouts to choose from; a classic, L-shaped galley near the entrance or a larger galley toward the bow for those who like wide open spaces. Both dinettes have several storage spaces, which can be converted into extra refrigerators, freezers, wine cellar, ice machine, dishwasher, washer and dryer, and other options.
The Master Cabin can have 2 layouts; the first layout features a central bed, the second features a large bed at the side. Both provide a spacious and comfortable cabin with large closets, a bathroom with a separate shower and several storage spaces, and a very large bed. The large calavele can be converted into a sailor cabin upon request, complete with sink, shower and toilet. A large anchor locker with electric anchor windlass and a carbon bowsprit complete the bow equipment. Large skylights make the room very bright and airy. The windows along the broadside are made at the perfect height to enjoy the outdoor landscape even while sitting. The design of this new model was always studied in detail, making improvements where they were deemed necessary: for example, the engine compartment can accommodate engines of different sizes, as well as the generator. It is also possible to install a watermaker, air conditioning system, have oversized tanks for both water and diesel, water tank, TV, bow and stern propeller. www.cantieredelpardo.com
