The group’s Excess brand Beneteau, after launching the 12 and 15 models in Cannes, is launching the smallest boat in the range as well as one of the smallest cruising catamarans on the market, the Excess 11. While the first two models put in the water had hulls derived from Lagoon designs (another Beneteau Group brand), this one is a design, conceived by VPLP Design studio with interiors by Nauta Design, entirely from scratch.
INTENDED FOR SHIPOWNERS
The choice of length, with an all-out 11.33, is not accidental. In fact, the Excess 11 is intended to be a catamaran primarily for owner use, and it is also on this metric that potential new owners are approaching the world of catamarans. Stable, easily maneuverable and with a good weight/sail area ratio, this 11-meter boat aims to be an ideal vessel for comfortable cruising.
THE PULSE LINE VERSION
Going into the details of the design, the shipyard in addition to the standard version offers one with an increased sail plan, and the difference in terms of horsepower is substantial: upwind the Pulse version offers 85sqm versus 77, which should be taken into consideration if the goal is to have a snappy boat even in the breezes. The hulls are characterized by a fairly pronounced redan just above the waterline. A classic dual solution with a dual function: to cut off water by keeping the deck drier in rough seas and to increase the volume of the interior.
The deckhouse is fully panoramic, the rigging arrangement is designed not to disturb the aft living area with a series of solutions to bring the sheet ropes to the outer areas.
Also at the stern is support for a possible tender.
Length. f.t. 11.33 m
Width. 6,59 m
Immersion 1.15 m
Displacement 9 tons.
