IMG_4660The new Ernesto Riva Daysailer 25 is the brainchild of Marco Giudici, an experienced skipper and passionate dinghist, and the project of Carlo Bertorello.

Design echoing the lines of the early 1970s, with self-supporting mahogany strip planking shell (Daniele Riva’s woodworking experience was key here). Appendages include a high-elongation lifting keel, ballast in a flattened torpedo section, and deep rudder. The latter can be lifted into a watertight slot provided in the stern locker and slid out from above to place the boat on the undercarriage.

The rig is made of light alloy or carbon fiber tubes. Short length and light weight allow the boat to be easily masted without a crane. The sail plan includes a working jib with garrocci on the forestay and an uninferenced code 0, walled on the laminated wood extensible bowsprit. Gennaker and MPS complete the sail plan. Data: lft. 7.55 m; wd. 2.45 m; fish. 0.65/1.55 m; sup. vel. 34 sq. m. www.barcheriva.it, www.carlobertorello.com
