In 1986 the founders of Equinoxe Yachts, Corrado di Majo and Alessandro Ussi, turned their passion for sailing into a profession. A forward-looking choice because 30 years later Equinoxe is among the leaders in the international marine market. The idea of combining the world of boating, an exclusive niche at the time, with that of traditional tourism and making boating vacations accessible to many, even non-experienced sailors, was the origin of the charter business. “Turning my passion for sailing into a professional activity was an almost necessary step when I met Alessandro Ussi, a top athlete of the Italian national athletics team, and together we founded the company,” says Corrado di Majo. Since then, Equinoxe has been offering all possible related services to complement the cruise: air ticketing, travel insurance, hotel accommodations, and shore services.
What appears normal today but in the late 1980s was unique. In these 30 years, Equinoxe has explored every corner of the world and has established itself as an Italian reference point in the international nautical brokerage market for its ability to advise, market knowledge, professional relationships with the best designers
and construction sites. “After 30 years of sailing,” di Majo concludes, “we will still try to share our great passion, the sea, with many. This is also why I am pleased to announce that the brand new Lagoon 620 Kaskazi Four has joined our fleet and is ready to start the charter season.” Equinoxe Yachts, tel. 011.8185211, www.equinoxe.it
