THE CAPTAINS AND CREW METHOD
Captains and Crew, a highly professionalizing school coordinated by the Com.te Ugo Carsana and Sabina Pagliei, proposes a “craft” approach, based on A highly articulated and rigorous teaching plan that manages to transfuse into practical fundamentals what theory, the notions studied in various professional courses alone cannot give. It is a school that is aimed primarily at those who are already working in the nautical charter business or at least have already obtained the titles and qualifications to do so, but wish to deepen their skills and abilities in order to establish themselves in the job market, which, in Italy, is strongly affected by foreign competition.

A team of experienced captains, skippers as well as insiders are in charge of organizing the various activities carried out on a daily basis during the two-week training course, drawing on the cooperation of professionals in each field. From CPR training course director for “first aid,” to Counselor for “managing relationships and conflicts on board” course, to apnea instructor with Apnea Academy teaching for Apnea course, business manager of major charter companies.

TESTIMONIES FROM THOSE WHO PARTICIPATED IN THE COURSES
We have collected some testimonials from those who participated in the Captains and Crew courses:

“I took part in the Captains and Crew skipper course. It was a great learning experience for me and was the beginning of a path that led me to the MCA Master 200. I am currently in Qatar, in Doha, embarked as a Captain on Lagoon 56 and previously I was in Dubai on Lagoon 63,” says Diego di Brigida.
“Going from practicing sailing as a passion to living it as a profession has been the greatest accomplishment of participating in Captains and Crew’s Skipper courses. The change of mindset and awareness is the basis of all teaching,” adds Alessandro Pofferi.

Captains & Crew follows the career path of its students even after the end of the course. Recounts Alessio Ferraris, “In March 2017, I participated in the Captains and Crew course for Skipper in the hope of turning what until then was a simple passion into a real profession. It was love at first sight, so I decided to go on with both Italian and British training recommended by Commander Ugo Carsana, who follows and supports me. Currently I have completed all the necessary IMO basics and the YachtMaster Offshore RYA, next challenge the MCA Master 200 gt. I recommend everyone who wants to try their hand at this activity to participate in the courses and discover how much more beautiful there is in going to sea.”
