Feel like testing yourself aboard one of the most fun and challenging drifts in history? The opportunity is unique: the International Contender Class Italy provides fully equipped, race-ready hulls for free, to be given, on loan for use for one year, to assignees chosen by the Class Council.
THE ONLY TWO CONDITIONS TO BE MET
To be eligible for the opportunity, there are two conditions to be met: being a maximum of 30 years of age (for male helmsmen, no upper limit is set for women) and a guarantee of being able to participate in at least three regattas on the calendar, including two national ones.
HOW TO GET A CONTENDER?
If you are interested in getting up close and personal with the Contender, the adrenaline-pumping trapeze-equipped single designed by Bob Miller (aka Ben Lexcen) in 1967, you must send by next February 15 an email to the address. segretario@contender.it, containing your resume: you will need to indicate your age, FIV membership number, club affiliation, sailing experience with best results, profession, availability of car with hook, and any information you deem important to facilitate your selection.
BOAT ALREADY INSURED, YOU RETURN IT AT THE END OF THE SEASON
OR YOU BUY IT SUPER DISCOUNTED
The boat comes with liability insurance. The assigned coxswain will be responsible for the boat and its running condition and must sign a hold harmless document releasing International Contender Class Italy from all liability. He will be required to return everything in its original condition at the end of the 2016 season, and if he wishes, he will be able to purchase boat and equipment at a favorable price.
