Owner together with his brother Marco of the historic charter company with 32 years in business, Antonio Barabino predicts a very interesting summer season: “For the past few years, the range of customers turning to charter has opened up and there are many more ‘neophytes’ choosing this type of vacation. We are therefore becoming more and more structured to meet the demands of the public, and for 2022 we are coming up with a fleet of 16 sailboats that notably includes the entire range of a historic, safe and reliable brand like Bavaria, from 32 to 51 feet.

These are boats that we have been using since the beginning of our decade-long activity with great appreciation from tourists, first because they are boats with great strength, safety and endurance at sea. Added to this for the past few years is a growing convenience and comfort on board that are very important for a summer charter. Finally, this year, in order to be more and more competitive and expand our offerings, we also ordered an Oceanis 40.1. Then again, we are always open to anything that may be of interest to the customer, and we know that we have to follow the sea: which for us is a family story thanks to our father and before that our grandfather who made us love sailing boats.”

As always then Cruising Charter’s base is at Marina di Portisco, one of the most modern ports in Sardinia that geographically marks the entrance from the south to the Costa Smeralda. It is also only thirty minutes from Olbia, served by an international airport and ferry port, and is strategic for reaching all the most sought-after sailing areas in the area: the Emerald Coast, Maddalena Archipelago, and South Corsica are at a maximum of about 5 hours by boat, with endless choices of state-of-the-art roadsteads and marinas.

“Tourists,” Antonio Barabino continues, “ask for advice and routes, they trust our experience because they immediately understand that the company’s footprint is strong thanks to my brother and me knowing the whole area inside out from a very young age, and we find it easy to pass this on to customers with empathy.

Proposals for the summer? Bookings are already going well fortunately, and thanks to the Bavaria fleet we can guarantee rates with excellent value for money: for example, a 3-cabin at the end of June costs from 2,900 euros, with a discount if booked online; a classic 4-cabin, on the other hand, for July can cost from 4,300 euros. And more generally for summer 2022 we can offer rates starting from around 1,600 euros for the smaller 2-cabin models in early June to over 7,000 euros for the flagship boat with 5 cabins in August.”
