Covid, skips Miami boat show (and almost all U.S. boat shows)

Cancelled Miami Boat Show 2021 with 8 other US boat shows in the first quarter of 2021.

NMMA is the national marine industry association and brings together recreational boat yards, engine manufacturer and accessories. Because of the situation related to Covid-19, the association announced today that it has made major changes to the planning of Boat Shows in the first four months of 2021: essentially 9 boat shows were cancelled, including the famous Miami Boat Show, With the choice to move forward with only three events.

  • Atlantic City Boat Show – Feb. 24-28, 2021, with the possibility of postponing it to early April 2021
  • Northwest Sportshow – March 25-28, 2021
  • New England Boat Show – Between mid-first quarter and early second quarter.

A return to full event planning is planned for September 2021.

Miami Boat Show 2021 and 8 other boat shows cancelled

Following the principle of “Health and Safety First,” NMMA has decided to cancel these events. A choice that came about to preserve the health of visitors, staff and the entire industry.

“These choices,” says Frank Hugelmeyer, president of the NMMA. – are the result of months of conversations with exhibitors, health officials, industry professionals and other stakeholders about producing safe, successful and high-quality experiences for consumers. We understand the vital role boat shows play in showcasing new products and generating sales for the recreational marine industry, and we plan to resume our full program starting in September 2021.”

For the three shows currently on the calendar, each choice will always be guided by the same principle: “health and safety first,” with the possibility of changes.
