We often find ourselves taking stock of what has been, of the new things we have just seen at the shows or on the docks. Today we are changing the game. We sat down at the editorial desk and tried to imagine, data and experience in hand, what might change in the boating world in the next twelve months. Thus was born a small vademecum in ten words: from A for Alliances to R for Reputation. After the first two installments (links are at the bottom of the article), today we are talking about Sharing.
SHARING
The new verb with which almost everything is done today is “sharing,” Italian for “to share.” In cities, people share cars with car sharing, travel by sharing houses on Airbnb or taking and offering rides with Bla Bla Car.
All with the goal of saving money, without too much sacrifice. Even in our world, boats have become shared thanks to companies that specialize in buying boats under multiple ownership to cut operating and maintenance costs.
But not only that, there are an increasing number of sites aggregating sailors from all over the world looking for boat-stop passages to sail around the world without spending a euro but by providing and sharing their sailing skills in a crew. AAA Wanted Cambusiere in exchange for Atlantic crossing!
