We often find ourselves taking stock of what has been, of the new things we have just seen at the shows or on the docks. Today we are changing the game. We sat down at the editorial desk and tried to imagine, data and experience in hand, what might change in the boating world in the next twelve months. ENVIRONMENT
The sailboat is definitely one of the most “ecologically correct” means of transportation. In recent years we have seen so many measures aimed at making sailboats increasingly autonomous and fuel-neutral, right down to two recent innovations. The new blackwater directive that finally closes the chapter on overboard toilet discharges that will have to be “only” connected to blackwater tanks or a “water treatment system.”
Another key point is the attachments to the collection system, which will have to be standard. The Elan shipyard then brought the E4 to the Paris Motor Show in an electric version, with an interesting all-electric powertrain. The thruster is a 10-kw Oceanvolt SD, which is lightweight and obviously very quiet and, in addition to moving the boat, allows the batteries to be recharged even while sailing (thanks to the rotation of the propeller).
