Due to adverse weather conditions, breaking waves and northeasterly gusts in excess of 40 knots, a 12-meter sailboat crashed on rocks in Rimini, to be precise near Rock Island, at the mouth of Rimini’s canal port. Initial reports say at least 2 are dead out of the total of 6 occupants. The search for survivors is ongoing. The vessel’s flag and model, as well as the owner, is not known at this time. Two crew members were rescued; two are still missing.
