PORTS DOSSIER 2017 – While new marinas are springing up that will increase the number of berths available along Italy’s coasts from 161,000 to 180,000 in the next few years, we tell you, day by day, what some of the most virtuous marinas have to offer.
From the mouth of the Tiber in a few miles we can reach some of the pearls of our seas. What could be better than keeping the boat sheltered in fresh water and yet having some of the most beautiful scenery in the Tyrrhenian Sea within easy reach? Porto Romano, located on the mouth of the great river, is a modern marina in the center of the Tyrrhenian Sea with an area of 60,000 square meters, 30,000 square meters that of the facility.
The port
The landing place is sheltered and without any particular crossings, characterized by calm and gentle waters, boats up to 45 meters with a maximum draft of 4 can moor there. The Marina is nestled in Mediterranean scrub and surrounded by tall trees that place it in a healthy and pleasant environment. Located within the harbor is the facility of the Tiber Yacht Club.
Services
Port services include boat cleaning, collection and disposal of garbage on board, oils, bilge discharges and black boxes, and the fuel station. WI-FI with broadband Internet covers the entire port facility. The shipyard covers an area of 15,000 square meters and 5,000 square meters of display of new and used boats. The hauling and moving of vessels is entrusted to modern travel-lifts capable of moving units up to 70 tons, self-propelled cranes and hydraulic trolleys. Sheds with a height of 10 meters identify Porto Romano boat service as the only boatyard in the Tyrrhenian to offer a painting and sheltering facility for hulls up to 30 meters.
Where it is located
Porto Romano is located at the mouth of the Tiber River, about 5 kilometers from Leonardo da Vinci International Airport and almost equidistant from the Pontine and Tuscan archipelagos, ideal destinations for summer cruises. Parking spaces are located a short distance from the moorings, there are restaurants on the harbor, and for members and guests of the Yacht Club, on days when the sea does not allow sailing, there is a large swimming pool located in a green area. A port therefore with an excellent strategic location and a high standard of quality and services.
