For many sailors, participating in the Barcolana is a dream. For everyone, however, it is the most famous festival/regatta in the world, not only in Italy. The most fun, the most numerous with lots of initiatives on land and at sea. So why not participate, even if you are not a racer or are new to racing? In Trieste on October 9 for the Barcolana, now a tradition, the Sailing Newspaper will be present on the shores to enliven the festivities on the dock and at sea. Regatta, friends party and fun, these are the ingredients of a classic fit for every sailor. We will be on the shores animating this great celebration of Italian sailing. We will have our crews aboard splendid boats competing, such as the More 55 under the command of Muarizio Vettrorato and the splendid Swan 47 of Enrico Malingri.
BARCOLANA, THE REGATTA TO DO AT LEAST ONCE IN A LIFETIME
It is the most famous regatta in the world and was started in the 1960s by a group of sailing friends from Trieste. In 46 years the Barcolana has grown and matured, but it has never changed the spirit of fun, of celebrating sailing. The important thing is to participate. The important thing is to let go of the ropes and be able to say, “I did the Barcolana, too.” There are sailors from all over the world, super racing maxis, regular boats, classic boats: in short, all the ingredients for a weekend with a pure sailing flavor. Not to be missed.
