From a sports point of view, it was one of the worst Barcolana editions ever. Reduced course at the second buoy due to virtually no wind with hundreds of boats not even able to cross the starting line. But the Barcolana is also this, you either love it or you hate it, and the 2015 boats entered showed all their passion regardless of the wind, exchanging greetings and toasts in the becalmed, with the spirit of those who want to be there regardless of the wind or the length of their boat.
Then there was also the regatta, which had an undisputed and unchallenged master. Barcolana 51 speaks Slovenian, with the victory of Way of Life, the former Maxi Jena, by Gasper Vincec. A crew shrouded in mystery until the eve of the race, which looked as if it might even participate with the former Spirit of Porto Piccolo winner of the last two editions with the Benussi brothers, but instead showed up on the starting line with the boat that finished second in many editions. Narrower and lighter than the other maxis (read HERE who the four favorites were), at the start she sported a small, light wind seeker that allowed her an immediate breakaway, which lasted throughout the race.
