J24 – A MYTH

More than a boat practically a myth. Even today, regattas dedicated to this monotype gather thousands of enthusiasts around the world. In 1976 Rod Johnstone built Ragtime, a 24-foot prototype in his garage that was able to free itself from IOR tonnage. Four of the first five hulls were purchased by owners named John, so the boat was named J-24. In the first 20 years of production, J-Boats churned out as many as 5200 examples. Great Italian sailors competed aboard J-24s, winning the Worlds: Francesco De Angelis, Lorenzo Bressani, Andrea Casale and Vasco Vascotto. LOOK HERE TAB AND QUOTES

Melges 24 – PURE ADRENALIN.

Even today, many One Design specialists call it the best monotype produced by Melges, and the good numbers on the race courses confirm that the Melges 24 story is far from over. Long 7 1/2 meters, born from the pencil of Reichel & Pugh studio, is capable of providing the owner with breathtaking thrills. The strict monotype, the relatively low costs and the excellent work done by the class, which can count on Volvo’s prestigious partnership in organizing regattas around the world, meant that all those who, dissatisfied with compensated time regattas, wished to try their hand at equal time, converged on Melges. For nine meters, in those days, the living spaces were considerable, In light wind it was very fast. Passer – MADE HISTORY

A boat that literally made history, with unmistakable lines but not easy to find used. One hundred and thirty-six boats produced from 1970 to 1982, a true record for a wooden boat. Because the Passatore was built with an innovative, lightweight and rigid system in marine plywood by the genius of the Sartini shipyard in Cervia. It was with this Finot-designed boat that a young Cino Ricci and his band of French-Italian sailors tried their hand at racing, also achieving excellent racing results in the early 1970s. The design for then was very innovative, with large volumes for a boat of not even 9 meters. Due to the considerable width, the interior is cozy with an unusual square with a semicircular sofa. The bunks are six.

Comet 910/910 Plus – HAS SIGNED A TIME.

A model that marked an era, still in demand on the used market for its simplicity and excellent marine qualities. The Comet 910, from 1973 to 1988, was produced in nearly 700 examples. When it came out it amazed with such full lines, especially at the stern, which provided exceptional habitability. The interiors had the kitchen block and concealed charting, so the square was enlarged. Another strength is the performance in light winds, the kind encountered predominantly in summer in our seas. It was not until 1980 that an improved version, called Plus, was introduced, with a somewhat shorter cockpit in order to gain the interior space to make cooking and charting fixed.
