If you want to understand what a sailing catamaran has become and why it is taking over the market, somewhat like SUVs have done in the automotive field, visit now at Milan Yachting Week – The digital boat show the boats in the water and the booth of Race Boating showcasing the iconic Fountaine Pajot brand.
Why catamarans are unsurpassed: the word of Fountaine Pajot
The French shipyard Fountaine Pajot is considered the inventor of these cruising boats that, just like SUVs, have basically doubled the space in a boat for the same length. How? Taking advantage of the superior width that comes from having the hulls become two, placed at either end of the boat. In between is a structure suspended over water that doubles the usable space on board.
Simple and ingenious, plus the fact that these boats, in addition to sailing, go strong with less horsepower by sailing with motor. They need less motorization than monohulls because they offer less water resistance. Plus they have two engines, one per hull, of low power. Additional security.
And last, these boats have exceptional stability that allows both sailing and anchoring at anchor in the roadstead to remain as steady as if you were ashore.
From 11 up to over 20 meters, a complete range
On the water Race Nautica presents the Fountaine Pajot range with as many as 6 models from 40 feet (12 meters) up to 67 feet (20 meters).
Race Nautica which is one of the shipyard’s largest dealers is able to offer Fountaine Pajot catamarans in minimal time, where usually the shipyard reserves more than 2 years of expectation, with access to better discounting to be reserved for the final customer. Would you like to take a look now at the catamarans that have conquered the market in just a few years?
There you have it.
Isla 40: unbeatable value for money
It starts with the “small” Fountaine Pajot Isla 40 (m. 11.93 x 6.63), which is set to revolutionize the entry-level segment of the world sailing catamaran market with its impressive features, performance and value for money.
Astrea 42: communal living or absolute privacy
It continues with the Fountaine Pajot Astrea 42 (m. 12.58 x 7.20) where inside the Astrea 42 is the right balance between common spaces and respect for one’s privacy, the tuga provides for a double seating in the bridge and a sunbathingarea, the largecockpit gives access to the large sea gangway making it a true Beach Club.
Elba 45: a 13-meter with 5-star comfort
It then goes up an extra meter in length with Fountaine Pajot Elba 45 (m. 13.45 x 7.55). The perfect boat to meet your expectations for speed under sail and motor, but also for comfort as in a 5-star hotel. Three- or four-cabin interior solutions, each with independent bathroom.
Saona 47: The fly is as big as the terrace of the house
And then we come to the Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 (m. 13.94 x 7.70), a yacht worthy of a traditional 60-footer. The Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 offers an unprecedented amount of living space thanks, for example, to the 9-square-meter flybridge and a master stateroom worthy of a suite. The Fountaine Pajot Saona 47 also features a salon, providing spectacular 360-degree views and splendid levels of natural light.
Samana 59: into the world of cat superyachts
We go up in size with the Fountaine Pajot Samana 59 (m. 18.78 x 9.46), and here we enter a new world, one where a yacht becomes like a large seaside villa. Some numbers to give you an idea: 27.5 sq. m. cockpit and 30 sq. m. flybridge (upper deck). Superyacht numbers…and the cabin space is no less, as is the spectacular salon and grand hotel kitchen.
Alegria 67: the 5-star luxury boat with spaces of a grand villa
For those who want to go overboard, to be able to tell friends “I have one of the most beautiful seaside villas in the Mediterranean,” here is the Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67 (m. 20.36 x 9.84). The sailing and motor performance of the Fountaine Pajot Alegria 67, combined with the hull design, allows for incredible cruising speeds. It offers a generous space of “5-star” luxury comfort that is both bold, modern and incredibly stylish.
All you have to do is visit the Fountaine Pajot range on the dock at Milan Yachting Week discover the features, read what new concepts inspired them, and look at the first sailing photos, those of the interior and deck.
