Many people fell for it, despite the fact that the article was peppered with clues hinting at a hoax (starting with the “fishy” names of the protagonists and the boat), and the final link to Alberto Sordi’s “pernacchione.” In any case, all kinds of oceanic records are now being attempted, and who knows whether our article will become a source of inspiration for some real “crazy”…
THE WHITE FISHBONE PRANK
But we were not the only ones joking. Our friends from theLisca Bianca Association, still in the running for Sailor of the Year, have seen fit to bring out a “special” April Fool’s Day edition of the Giornale della Vela, complete with a cover entirely dedicated to the legendary boat with which Sergio and Licia Albeggiani sailed around the world in the 1980s, accompanied by a gimmicky article signed by Mario Rossi which chronicled Lisca Bianca’s victory at the Sailor of the Year. Read below!
Someone called us asking for enlightenment! Don’t worry, this was also an April Fool’s joke! Nothing is decided, you can vote for the 25 nominees in the semi-final Velista of the Year at this link!
