Here are the first images of the brand new Oceanis Yacht 54. The new model in the Beneteau range is a design inspired by the world of automobiles. The hull in fact is that of the First Yacht 53, declined in a more cruiser key from the point of view of sail plan, accessories and various layouts.
Just as it happens with cars, where some brands, perhaps belonging to the same large group, make agreements to produce a car model that starts from the same base for all and then is declined differently depending on the brand, a similar process is happening in the very recent production of Beneteau, not at home also the Oceanis 40.1 is a “derivative” of another design, the Sun Odyssey 410, Jeanneau in fact is the other brand in the Beneteau group.

The defining element of the Oceanis Yacht 54 is undoubtedly the large rollbar where the mainsail sheet is deferred and which serves as a support for an almost total coverage of the cockpit.

In terms of sail plan, on the other hand, the Oceanis will have 128 sq. m. upwind, compared to 165 sq. m. for the First, and the difference can also be seen in the surface area of the asymmetrical, 210 versus 254. The boat has definitely been “softened,” but since the hull is still the original First’s, the marine qualities will still be unaffected.
The interiors will be available as three cabins and two bathrooms, or three cabins and three bathrooms.
