One of the most advanced boat bikes is undoubtedly the Gocycle. Foldable and pedal-assisted, it’s good for getting around town but perfect for the dock and for taking on board, precisely because of its weight of only 16.5 kilograms and compactness when folded (it fits in a locker!).
Today we are in the “third generation,” and the latest model (Gocycle G3) is a real gem in terms of technology and design. THE FEATURES OF GOCYCLE G3
The Gocycle G3 is made of magnesium and weighs only 16.5 kilograms, compared with a range of about 80 kilometers. The battery in the new G3 has proprietary software that improves its management. Speed is self-limited for Europe at 25 km/h, but can reach 40 km in countries with fewer restrictions.
The small 250-watt motor, exclusively designed by Karbon Kinetics Ltd (owner of the Gocycle brand), operates on the front wheel while the Shimano Nexus electronic 3-speed gearbox operates on the rear wheel.
The combination of motor, pedals and gearbox make it the most advanced pedal-assist bicycle on the market. The brakes are hydraulic disc brakes. Pure magnesium wheels have the patented Hexlock lock/unlock system. The ergonomically designed V-shaped thealaio is suitable for all sizes, and the handlebar has a front LED safety light with 3 levels of intensity or off.
HOW THE SMARTPHONE BECOMES A TOUCHSCREEN DASHBOARD
An LED display indicates battery status, gear position and consumption. Everything is managed by an App for both iOs and Android that allows for convenient and easy selection of all the functions and modes of use: City, Eco, On-Demand and Custom. The Custom mode allows you to customize the use of the G3 and select how much effort to require from your legs, when to activate the electric motor, and what speed to set.
The latest version of the App is very comprehensive and reports on the smartphone screen a lot of information about consumption, energy used, miles traveled etc. The smartphone mounted on the handlebar via 2 elastic mounts provided by Gocycle turns into a real touch screen dashboard.
