Companies are made up of people; they are the ones who make the difference. In the sailing world, sailmakers are one of the most important entities in this industry, and they are an indispensable reference point for sailors. Sailmakers are those to whom we entrust the wings of our boat, those who will help keep it moving even in the lightest breezes if we want to. But the goodness of sails depends both on materials and on people, on those who design and build our sails.
In the team already made up of Salvo D’Amico, Mario Giattino and Marco Bruni, after Francesco Bruni and Max Sirena had already joined (read HERE), Doyle Sails Italia, the Palermo-based sailmaker, secures an enfant prodige of sail design, Dario Motta.
The sailor (also a kyte enthusiast) and designer of 32 years old, joins Doyle Italy after a degree in naval engineering from the University of Genoa and a doctorate in New Zealand, at the University of Auckland Yacht Research Unit (a research center of excellence specializing in aerodynamic studies applied to sail design). With his entry, the Italian loft brings home a young talent who grew up professionally in the home of sailing, which combined with the experience of the other members of the Doyle team confirms the sailmaker as one of Italian and international excellence.
