A self-taught designer decidedly against the grain, at 83 and after ten boats built with his own hands, Ernesto Tross still has much to say. We present here the first excerpts of a long interview Cristophe Julliand conducted with him. WHO ERNESTO TROSS IS
Ernesto Tross began his adventure as a do-it-yourself designer back in 1962 with a plywood outrigger canoe. In 1978 he discovered aluminum, with which he made his first “ocean” boats. He designed and built the 9-meter Grey Bear in 2000, and the 10-meter White Bear in 2009.
