Emma Creighton, bowman of the Class 40 Dragon, must have thought the same when the boat, during the in-shore race at Newport of the 2014 Atlantic Cup (the two-stage race from Charleston to New York and from the Big Apple to Newport, reserved for Class 40s) suddenly hit a rock, projecting her over the bow: her quick thinking ensured that she managed to hang onto the bowsprit, but what a “noodle”!
