There are boats created for a specific purpose. After three years of hard work, the Team Cobalt boys (Jack Gifford and Luke Yates, 26 and 28) have made it. They have launched their 20-foot catamaran equipped with hydrofoils: it is a double-mast bolide designed specifically to break the record for the mythical Round the Isle of Wight course, currently held by the AC45 helmed by Sir Ben Ainslie.
The boat, made entirely of carbon with a honeycomb structure, weighs only 200 kilograms. This video shows the latest progress and first images of the supercatamaran under sail.
