DSCN1919It’s been talked about for years, now it’s reality: the theoretical exam for the boating license within and beyond 12 miles is quiz-based! Those who want a license within 12 miles, if they pass the first stage of the exam, demonstrating that they can read the geographic coordinates of a of a point on the nautical chart as well as know the essentials of estimating navigation and the coordinate system according to the Mercator projection, must face a basic questionnaire consisting of twenty questions; each with three answer alternatives of which only one is correct. A maximum time of thirty minutes is allowed for the performance of the test. For the no-limit license, the issue changes. The first stage consists of administering the usual charting problem, followed by the questionnaire in which the answer deemed correct is indicated by clearly placing an X in the space provided. In case the holder already holds a license within 12 miles from the coast, the supplementary theory-only examination consists of the resolution of the supplementary questionnaire consisting of thirteen questions dealing with the material not included in the examination program provided for qualification held; each question has three answer alternatives of which only one is correct. A maximum time of twenty minutes is allowed for the performance of the test. A maximum number of two errors are allowed for passing: in this case the candidate enters the practical test. For those who already hold a license within 12 miles from the coast, the supplementary theory-only exam consists of the resolution of the basic questionnaire and the supplementary questionnaire articulated on the total of thirty-three questions. The maximum number of errors allowed is three… Don’t smile, even you who already have a license. Test yourself with our test and find out if you could do it today!
