Here is the first image of the long-awaited Dehler 46 still under construction: the nuumero 1 hull modules are almost ready. The first details of the project had been presented during the Düsseldorf exhibition (January 18-26, 2014): a hull 14.40 meters long and 4.35 meters wide and available in three different versions: standard T-keel (2.25 m), racing T-keel (2.70 m) and short L-keel (1.85 m).
SOFT LINES AND AMPLE SPACE
Designed with dual wheelhouses, the new Dehler 46 reintroduces some winning choices we had already seen aboard the 38, such as the soft lines of the deckhouse, the large maximum beam that stays that way all the way to the stern, and the possibility of arming the boat either for cruising use or, for sportier owners, with a more racer look and characterized by keel masts capable of cushioning stresses and distributing them evenly throughout the hull. The latter is reinforced with carbon fiber that ensures very high stiffness. Note in the bow a large locker accessed by a ladder and ideal for stowage. In the stern, on the other hand, there is space in the wheelhouse area to mount a pod plotter; the curved lines that characterize the cockpit make this area ergonomic and comfortable for the crew. The stern is then equipped with a fold-down swim platform and the humpback bench that can be converted into a gangway for dockside descent.
RECORD-BREAKING INTERIORS
The interior provides three generously sized cabins with large bunks and ample stowage space, and like the exterior spaces, are dominated by round, harmonious shapes that create a welcoming atmosphere. The dinette is dominated by a large U-shaped sofa, an L-shaped kitchen and a chart table, while the two bathrooms both have separate shower stalls.
