RUSSIAN TYCOON WHO DREAMS OF SAILING SHIPS
But Russian billionaire Vasily Klyukin has been thinking things much bigger (let us tell you, with a touch of kitsch that characterizes tycoons “beyond the curtain”) and, of course, for profit: a giant hospital in the shape of a sailing ship. It is the White Sails Hospital & Spa to be built in Enfidha, Tunisia. The project budget is around 50 billion euros: not bad for the massive sail-hospital.

I GO TO SPACE AND HOSPITALS GIVE ME SADNESS
“The idea,” says Klyukin, who built his fortune with Sovcombank, one of Russia’s leading banks, “came to me after my constant visits to hospitals. Health problems? Far from it: “I’m going into space next year, and my condition has to be monitored periodically. Every time I go into a hospital, the sight of it gives me the heebie-jeebies. So I said to myself, why not build a hospital where there is no room for fear?”

The hospital design is by Saudi Arabian architect Lalei Al Barakah East while construction will be overseen by engineering firm Thornton Tomasetti. What do you think?
