An edition particularly rich in excitement and twists and turns of La Cinquecento Trofeo Phoenix, organized by the Circolo Nautico Santa Margherita in Caorle, has come to an end.

Setting out on Sunday, May 31, in total becalmed conditions, the forty participants chased for all five hundred miles of the course a wind that eventually arrived, in the form of thermals and mistral, which after the passage of Sansego helped the fleet in the descent to the Tremiti and then in the ascent back to Sansego and the coveted finish line of Porto Santa Margherita. The regatta ended on Saturday, June 6, a day later than the averages of recent years, but that is not to say it was a slow edition: constant changes of scene at the top of the rankings, chases, exciting match-races, competition, competitiveness and great seamanship.

Also at the calculation of compensated times, both IRC and ORC, rewarded the brilliant performance of the Trieste-based Furio Gelletti-Franco Ferluga on the Comet 45 Wanderlust, overall winners of the 2015 500×2and the Victories Challenge Trophy. In the IRC classes, after many battles in the field, Gianfranco Berton-Paolo Favaro’s Vahinè 5 won in class 1, Paolo Striuli-Marco Tapetto’s Black Angel won in class 2, and Wanderlust again in class 0. The Leonardo Bronca Challenge Trophy for the best result of the youngest couple goes to Slovenian champions Aljaz Jadek-Nejc Dolinsek on the Class 40 Boxx.
