One only has to look at the images in this video, shot with a GoPro attached to the forestay, to convince even the most wary that the Clipper Round The World Race is not simply a round-the-world cruise in stages. A slap caught in the middle of a hurricane encountered in the middle of the Indian Ocean on the leg from South Africa to Australia: a wave the size of a palace knocks down the entire crew, motionless and tired0 in the cockpit, who manage to stay aboard only because they are firmly hooked to the life-lines. The video, released just a few days ago, was shot in November 2013. The Clipper Round the World Race is a round-the-world race in stages for non-professional crews. The boats are currently finishing the eighth leg on the New York-Derry-Londonderry route.
