Stop votes. And thank you very much. In fact, 40,000. Like the preferences you expressed, in total, in the three phases of voting for the 2015 Sailor of the Year. In the first round from 100 candidates (people and boats) there were 52 left, then from 52 to 25, and finally this last round (over 6,000 votes), where your vote had advisory value.

WHO WERE THE TOP VOTE-GETTERS
Among the top rated by you was Roberto Tomasini Grinover, owner of the successful Robertissima series of boats, followed by just one of his creatures, the Robertissima III. Then Giuseppe Giuffré, owner of the M37 Low Noise: again the boat took a lot of votes, so much so that it, too, appeared in the top ten. Then the Sangermans Samurai and Namib, designer Matteo Polli, Il Moro di Venezia, Matteo Miceli and Vittorio Bissaro, and Silvia Sicouri.
YOU’RE ALL INVITED TO THE AWARD AWARD at SANTA MARGHERITA FRIDAY, MAY 8.
We were saying earlier about the advisory value, in this final selection phase, of your online vote. Now the ball is in the court of the Jury of the Journal of Sailing, which, taking into account your preferences as well, will choose the shortlist of “papabili” for election as Sailor of the Year 2015 and for winning the other prizes up for grabs, the TAG Heuer Passion, Performance and Innovation.
You can meet the finalists in person, at the TAG Heuer VELAFestival in Santa Margherita Ligure (Genoa) during the Day of Champions on Friday, May 8. On the evening of the same day there will be an awards ceremony and you will find out who will be the new Sailor of the Year, the most coveted title in Italian sailing awarded since 1991.
