Sailor of the Year, it’s your turn again! There is a re-vote from March 4!

Now the going gets tough. It’s your turn again to vote (starting Wednesday, March 4) on who you think deserves to become the 2015 Sailor of the Year. From the 52 remaining candidates in the race (of the initial 100 from which we asked you to choose in the online survey in which 25,000 of you participated) only 25 will advance to the next stage.

WARM UP THE MOUSE!
In fact, the second round of voting for TAG Heuer 2015 Sailor of the Year will open on March 4. The one with which, through a survey on our site, you will skim further: Of the 52 remaining nominees in the race (fifty drifters, Olympic class specialists, sailors, owners, designers, and even boats, modern and classic, plus the two candidates who took the most votes among those you pointed out to us and whom we pitted against each other in a parallel poll) Only 25 will advance to the next stage. The round will close next March 15. Let us recap, for the sake of clarity, the timeline of the Sailor of the Year:

TAG HEUER 2015 SAILOR OF THE YEAR IN FOUR STAGES

FIRST STAGE (WINNING VOTE) – FROM 100 to 52 CANDIDATES (TERMINATED)
-100 CANDIDATES voted online on our website from Jan. 26 to Feb. 15
-20 CANDIDATES INDICATED BY YOU voted online from Feb. 4 to Feb. 15
-The 50 most voted plus the two who gathered the most preferences among those chosen by you passed the round

SECOND STAGE (WINNING VOTE) – 52 to 25 CANDIDATES.
-52 CANDIDATES to vote online from March 4 to March 15
-The 25 candidates with the most votes go through.

THIRD STAGE (CONSULTATIVE VOTE) – 25 to 5 CANDIDATES.
-25 CANDIDATES to vote online from March 30 to April 13. The vote in this case will have advisory value: taking into account also your expressed preferences, a jury of the specialists of the Journal of Sailing will select the 5 CANDIDATES who will pass the round

FOURTH PHASE – CHOOSING THE SAILOR OF THE YEAR (AND OTHER AWARDS)
-The 5 CANDIDATES chosen will go on to make up the shortlist of “papayees” for Sailor of the Year. These will compete, based on the decisions of the GdV jury, for the Sailor of the Year award and the other TAG Heuer awards: Passion, Innovation and Performance
-Winners will be revealed at the Day of Champions at the TAG Heuer VELAFestival (May 7-10) in Santa Margherita Ligure on May 8

YOU HAVE PROVED US RIGHT
A small consideration after the first phase: the (non-binding) categories under which we had opted, for our and your convenience, to divide the candidates turned out to be a true mirror of reality: In fact, among the most voted by you are alternating names of drifters (Olympic and non-Olympic), offshore (and classic) boats, and representatives of a figure, that of the owner-driver (owner-driver), which has grown a great deal in the world of offshore racing and monotypes in recent years.

HOW TO VOTE
To make voting even more transparent, starting with this round you will be required to enter your e-mail address in order to vote. After that you will receive an email asking you to click on a link to confirm your vote. You will only be able to vote once (so think twice). In case of tied scores, both candidates will pass the round. The categories into which we have divided the candidates are purely indicative.
