The Daysailer Dinamica 940 (pictured) has also been appreciated for its speed, and despite not being designed as a racing boat, it has “put the bow in front” in multiple events. Now Dinamica Yachts (based in Desenzano, on Lake Garda) is presenting its most pulled version, the new Dinamica 31 Race, at Boot Düsseldorf.
150 KG LESS THAN THE PREVIOUS 940
The extensive use of carbon fiber in the construction reduced the boat’s weight to 1,950 kg (compared to 2,100 for the 940, pictured opposite). The fabrication of carbon fiber, Glass E, vacuum epoxy infusion, Airex plus post treatment in the oven is a sign of the very high quality of construction (even the rudder and tiller are completely made of carbon fiber and Airex).
SAIL AREA TO HULL RATIO
In the fixed keel version, the center of gravity is lower and the percentage of lead keel weight is 62%. The sail area to total boat weight ratio is 6.4, a ratio that qualifies the new Dinamica 31 as a racing boat.
CARBON AND TEXTILES GALORE
Equipment has been optimized to the max, with four-speed Pontos winches, new Spinlock XTR stoppers with 35 percent less weight, pad eye and Dyneema carabiners. Also in textile are current maneuvers. The mast, boom and spreaders are made of carbon, and the double backstay allows precise mast adjustment.
THE ELECTRIC MOTOR
Another new feature is the retractable electric motor; if an inboard is chosen, a Kräutler motor is fitted, which can be retracted completely into the hull so as to decrease the braking force of the propeller and saildrive.
