Marco Donnini’s Elan 410 Nair (Circolo Nautico Bogliasco) won overall the Portofino 200 Miglia, the new sailing event organized by Circolo Nautico Rapallo.
THE CHOICE OF REDUCTION
Originally the route was to be 181 miles, starting from Portofino via Giraglia, Capraia, Gorgona and then returning to Portofino. But the prohibitive forecast caused the Race Committee to opt for two shortened courses: one on the Portofino-Tino Island-Portofino route for smaller boats, the other on the Portofino-Gorgona-Portofino route (total: 125 miles) for larger boats. And it was on this course that Nair triumphed, taking 29 hours, 10 minutes and 30 seconds, finishing ahead of Alessandro Gandini’s Aloha (CN Rapallo).
