We report an event for those who want to spend an evening of sea stories. On Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 9 p.m., at the Orza Minore Sailing School headquarters at 6/a Via Arosio (Monza), a great evening of sailing is scheduled with Penelope’s wake, logbook of Susanne Beyer (who won our Sailor of the Year award in 2012 along with Marco Nannini) and her first Transat 650. Susanne a sailor and yachtsman from an early age has over the years become one of the few vintage boat captains in Italy.
In 2008 he became ill with ‘Minite’ , the Mini 650 class, six-and-a-half-meter boats suitable for the Transat 650 solo ocean race from France to Brazil with only one stop. Three years later she was on the starting line of the 2011 edition of the regatta and finished it first among Italians and second woman overall.
The book is an account of the grueling preparation and approach to his first major solo ocean race sporting endeavor and touching logbook, in which pages filled with technical narrative are constantly interspersed with those devoted to memories, emotions of happiness but also fear.
Admission is free, for information contact 039.328301 or go to www.orzaminore.it
