It was a repeat of what happened last year: Giuseppe Giuffré and Alberto Rossi reconfirmed as rainbow winners at the ORC World Championships in Barcelona. Giuffré (YC Chiavari) won in Class C aboard Low Noise II, his new Italia 998 Custom: the Milanese editor changed boats (after the M37 Low Noise) but the results continued to remain top-notch. Bravo to Giuseppe (honored by us at the VELAFestival with the TAG Heuer Performance award), who has been able to create a winning crew around him (of which strongman Duccio Colombi holds the reins).
And bravo to Rossi, it was not easy to win again: especially with such stiff competition at the top. The TP52 Enfant Terrible Minoan Lines had to contend with Xio, the other TP52 owned by Marche (Rossi is also from the Marche region) Marco Serafini, and managed to edge it by just one length. So the Azzurri in Class A took home a gold and a silver.
There is also a nice bronze medal to report in Class B: that won by Pier Vettor Grimani from Venice aboard the X-41 Sideracordis.
