Get comfortable and get ready to get excited. On Friday, May 8, starting at 4:30 p.m., in the Hospitality area of TAG Heuer VELAFestival we will have guest Matteo Miceli, a veteran of his ill-fated eco-sailing world tour.
Matthew capsized in the Atlantic on March 13, 600 miles off the coast of Brazil, while aboard his self-built Eco 40 (a Class 40 modified to be energy and food self-sufficient, with solar panels, hydro generators and wind generators, a hydroponic vegetable garden and two chickens on board) he was on his 145th day of sailing, with 25,000 miles behind him (he had departed from Riva di Traiano and was due to return there), after rounding Cape Horn.
Matthew was rescued by a merchant ship; unfortunately, there was nothing to be done for the boat. But we don’t want to anticipate too much! It will be Miceli himself who will tell us, in full detail, the whole story. Don’t miss it!
