A smiling, ironic and thirty pounds lighter Matteo Miceli was the one who spoke during the press conference held in Rome, in the beautiful setting of the Museum of San Salvatore in Lauro. Recall that while on her way home during her nonstop solo round-the-world attempt, Matteo Miceli’s Echo 40 lost her keel in the Atlantic when she was about two days from crossing the Equator. Fortunately, the Italian sailor was rescued by a cargo ship that brought him safely back to shore. But it is not yet time to stop for Matteo Miceli. Indeed, he announced his immediate repertory for Brazil to retrieve the boat. In fact, the insurance company gave him consent, command of operations and even an expense contribution. Six of them will leave and reach the spot where Echo 40 is drifting easily located thanks to the tracking that Matthew was quick to turn on at the time of abandonment. But the news for the future doesn’t end there, because Miceli is already itching to get back to racing: when he returns, he will participate as Roma Ocean World in the Roma per Tutti starting from Riva di Traiano on April 12 aboard Whisky Echo, Valerio Brinati’s Este 35. Daje Matteo, we are with you!
