Sicily. A new port, which is three years old and is powerfully establishing itself on the southern Italian scene: by 2015, berths (from 4 to 70 meters in length) will touch 1,500. An entire quay on the shore has been dedicated to large yachts, while state-of-the-art floating docks accommodate boats from 4 to 22 meters. Marina di Cala del Sole is designed to make maneuvering as easy as possible, thanks to wide channels and sandy bottoms with draughts from 4 to 6 meters. The structures were built using biocompatible materials, and alternative clean energy is used. Its water-front constitutes the largest pedestrian area in the Licata area, featuring a striking waterfront among gardens, fountains, three areas dedicated to shopping, services and entertainment. Two villages are also being built within the Cala del Sole Marina, which will make it even more the center of life in the area. Tel. 0922 1837137, www.marinadicaladelsole.it
