Little Wing wins the Italian Minialtura Championship. Strong young people of Arkanoe

The 2014 Italian Minialtura Championship concluded in Chioggia after eight spectacular races run even in difficult conditions with 54 boats entered from all over Italy. The new Italian Minialtura Champion is Little Wing, the Melges 24 led by top-team professional Enrico Zennaro with Olympian Karlo Hmelijak on tactics, NorthSail’s Stefano Orlandi, N. Zennaro and G. Scotti.
In second place Energy Solution, former Italian Champion 2011 and 2012 led by the “legendary” Garda champion Oscar Tonoli and completing the podium in 3rd place Garopera Insider of multi-titled Raimondo Cappa, outgoing Italian Champion. The revelation crew of the championship is Arkanoè Aleali by Montura, the Melges 24 of the youngest at the start, all high schoolers average age 18, Paduan bearers of the sailing club Il Portodimare, fourth overall.
Sergio Caramel, Filippo Orvieto, Margherita Zanuso, Riccardo Gomiero and Mario Bonsembiante amazed everyone with a series of truly incredible partials: in addition to fourth overall, they were also awarded as Italian vice-champions in the Corinthian category (the non-professionals), won the Young Trophy for the youngest crew and were officially honored by the Coni Gold Medals Association for sporting merit. The Arkanoè boys are the team of Montura, the event’s main sponsor, which on this very occasion inaugurated its new sea route.
