If Italy is latent, San Marino is there to hold up the peninsula’s flag in regard to boating and tourism. At the TAG Heuer VELAFestival in early April in Genoa, John Mazza led the small republic’s representation that participated in a discussion on the prospects for the development of the nautical industry, with a focus on Mediterranean tourism and the opening of an interchange with Asian countries, especially with the nascent sailing passion of the Chinese. San Marino is a member of the WTO (World Tourism Organization).
