As many as 152 boats participated this year in the seventh edition of the Veleziana, organized by the Venice Sailing Company: the regatta in the lagoon owes its success to the idea of having proposed itself as an “intermediate stop” for boats that, after participating in the Barcolana, return to ports along Italy’s Adriatic coast.
In real time, victory went to Fabio Sacco’s Mark Mills-designed 72-footer Pendragon Alilaguna, with Enrico Zennaro at the helm: just behind was Marino Quaiat’s RC44 Illyteca (helmed by Marino Condello), fresh off a silver in real time at the Barcolana as well. On the lowest step of the podium, again in real, Idrusa Brinmarshop of Paolo Montefusco.
