Happy birthday Mauro! And the last name is not even needed in the sailing world. If you say Mauro, you are referring to Pelaschier, one of the most titled and charismatic sailors in Italian history. A destiny sealed since his birth 65 years ago directly in a sailing club. A career of success at sea, from the Olympic classes to the America’s Cup at the helm of the legendary Azzurra to even the great oceanic sailings, and which allowed him to be awarded the Lion of the Sea award last year. A complete sailor who knows everything about his boat, right from the construction stages. And that it still commands respect on the most diverse race courses. Always as helpful on land as he is rough with his crew on the water, Mauro was also among the stars of the last VELAFestival, taking the stage on several occasions. A protagonist always, as long as it’s about sailing. So, happy birthday Mauro!
