Tomorrow-September 26,27,28, 2014. In an armored Lake Como for G. Clooney’s pre-wedding festivities, the real party for sailing enthusiasts is the Italian H22 held in Domaso, at the northern end of Lake Como. Three days of healthy competition, sportsmanship and fun where the fifteen H22s in attendance put on exciting races.
For the record, the races were held only on Saturday and Sunday, as a heavy mist had prevented both the Breva and the Tivano, as the breezes blowing from the north and south are called , from rising on Friday.
A total of six trials were thus held over the weekend, with one discard. The first prize went to ITA 136 of Giovanni Bonzio who placed second in all trials accumulating 10 points two less than Alberto Valli who despite two firsts paid for the lack of consistency, followed by Voghi, Benvenuto, Casetti, Sartori, Nasini and class neophyte Tajani, excellent position for his first time on the H22. Completing the top 10 are Dell’orto and Buonpane.
Also noteworthy was the nice initiative of Francesco Giuffrida, promoter of Banca Mediolanum (the latter’s sponsor of the event), who raffled off 2 bicycles and a moped to be drawn among the championship participants. Who the participants cross…fingers.
