Now that’s pointing out to sea! After completing and optimizing its performance range, Cantiere del Pardo is launching into the production of a Long Cruise line, dedicated expressly to deep-sea sailing. Great news that we had announced to you a few months ago, when Cantiere del Pardo was taken over by the Trevisani family.
A WHOLE NEW PROJECT
Designing the first model of this new course, the Grand Soleil 46 LC, is Marco Lostuzzi, who was responsible for the water lines and naval architecture. Italian also signed the interior, featuring Nauta Design studio. The desire was to achieve, while maintaining streamlined lines, great habitability on deck and in the interior, which takes advantage of a series of modular rooms. But let’s go in order.
On the deck, the asymmetric cockpit design is interesting, providing a good amount of seating. The helmsman has the primary winches at hand, so he can also steer the boat himself. Big news in Grand Soleil, is the presence of the rollbar, which integrates the mainsail track and sheet.
Internally, two layouts have been planned, three- or two-cabin; the latter designed primarily for the U.S. market.
In the May issue of the Journal of Sailing you can find an analysis of the new Grand Soleil 46 LC
